Pre-enrolment summary
Programme Agreement
A clear account of the commitment families and Really Wild make to one another. The final dated agreement and incorporated policies supplied before payment are the documents families sign.
Programme structure and purpose Six months · six modules · eighteen days
The Really Wild Youth Development Programme is one connected developmental journey, not six unrelated activity weekends. Each three-day module builds on prior learning and gradually increases the responsibility carried by participants.
Outdoor and expedition skills are the working environment through which judgement, teamwork, independence, responsibility, leadership and reflection are practised. Locations or activities may change where access, weather, safety or operational needs require it, while preserving the intended progression.
Attendance, engagement and progression What sustained participation means
Regular attendance matters because every module prepares participants for the next. Families should notify the programme promptly if illness or an exceptional circumstance prevents attendance. A missed module does not automatically end participation, but Really Wild will consider the learning gap, safety implications and the participant’s individual route forward.
Required preparation, reflection and Digital Passport activities form part of the programme. They should be completed before the following module wherever reasonably possible. Progression is based on demonstrated readiness, not age alone.
Participant responsibilities Contribution, conduct and preparation
Participants are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions; treat others with respect; contribute to camp and group life; care for personal, shared and borrowed equipment; communicate honestly; attempt agreed activities; and ask for support when it is needed.
Phones may be brought but are used only at agreed times and for agreed purposes. Bullying, deliberate unsafe behaviour, serious disruption or conduct that places another person’s welfare at risk may lead to removal from an activity or module and a review of continued participation.
Parent and guardian responsibilities Information, transport, preparation and contact
Parents or guardians must provide accurate and current medical, dietary, medication, emergency, access and support information; tell Really Wild promptly when circumstances change; arrange timely transport to and from the stated meeting points; support required preparation; meet payment dates; and remain contactable while a module is running.
Parents are partners in continuity, but are not expected to recreate the programme at home. Their role is to encourage preparation, recognise progress and raise concerns early.
Safety, safeguarding and individual needs Meaningful challenge with professional oversight
Really Wild plans activities, staffing, equipment and supervision around the environment, forecast, group and individual readiness. Challenge is purposeful and proportionate; unnecessary risk is not part of the educational model. Instructions may change or activities may stop when conditions require it.
Families must discuss additional needs before enrolment so suitability and reasonable support can be considered individually. Significant health, injury or welfare matters will be managed and communicated in line with the final safeguarding, emergency and consent information supplied to families.
Digital Passport, privacy and communication The secure space between modules
The Digital Passport supports reflection, preparation, challenges, instructor feedback and programme notices. Participant and parent access is private and must not be shared. Required work is part of continuity; some participant reflection areas may preserve appropriate independence while parents retain oversight of progress and programme information.
Families must use programme communication respectfully and avoid sharing another participant’s personal information, images or messages outside authorised spaces.
Fees, instalments and late payment £1,860 total
The total fee is £1,860. A £300 non-refundable deposit secures an accepted place after the final Programme Agreement is signed. The £1,560 balance is paid as six equal £260 payments, each due seven days before its corresponding module.
If a payment may be late, the parent or guardian should contact Really Wild before the due date. The final signed agreement will state the consequences of non-payment and any agreed alternative in writing.
Cancellation, refunds and programme changes Terms confirmed before signing
The £300 deposit is non-refundable. The final agreement must set out family cancellation timeframes, the treatment of instalments already due or paid, organiser cancellation, significant programme changes, exceptional circumstances and any insurance recommendation. Those legal details should not be inferred from this summary.
If Really Wild determines that a participant is not ready for the final participant-led expedition, the family will be informed in advance and the final-module payment will be refunded. This is a safety and readiness decision, not a punishment.
Final expedition eligibility Readiness is assessed, not assumed
The final expedition transfers substantial planning and leadership to the participants while instructors retain oversight. Eligibility therefore depends on consistent engagement, responsible behaviour, preparation, sound judgement and the ability to work safely with the group across the preceding modules.
The decision belongs to Really Wild’s programme leadership and will be explained to the family. A participant who is not eligible will receive the refund described above.
